It is with the great sadness The Classical City Association reports that in the morning of June 16th Frank Mason died.
Frank Mason was among the most prominent classical painters of the second half of 20th century. Always prepared to battle on art's behalf, he led public protests aginst damaging restorations at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling frescos. He was a cofounder and loyal supporter of Art Watch International. Among many generously active positions he undertook throughout his long career in the art world, Professor Mason served as Advisor to The Classical City Association. The funeral will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 11AM at Graces Cathedral at 800 Broadway (corner of 10th Ave), New York City.
